Philip Partnow

Philip Partnow founded the company in 2014 based on 20 years of experience spanning Swiss investment bank UBS, U.S-Japan brokerage Nikko Salomon Smith Barney, and Sullivan & Cromwell. Currently based in Tokyo, Mr. Partnow, has also lived and worked in Beijing and Hong Kong after starting his career in New York. He is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.

During a lengthy career with UBS that culminated in the role of Vice Chairman of Asia ex-Japan M&A, Mr. Partnow oversaw more than $20 billion worth of transactions. With a deep knowledge of both finance and law, he advised on cross-border M&A and joint ventures, working alongside U.S. funds such as TPG and Carlyle as well as Western corporates including Vodaphone, Diageo and Polo Ralph Lauren. Mr. Partnow's Asian clients have included PetroChina and Shanghai Electric in China, and Docomo and Furukawa Electric in Japan. Mr. Partnow’s expertise extends to deals across consumer and retail, industrial, financial services and natural resources sectors.

A graduate of Harvard College and Columbia University School of Law, Mr. Partnow founded his boutique advisory firm to provide top quality, bespoke advisory services focused on the cross-border China and Japan M&A markets.
